When a gift is made to your tribute fund, you will receive an email notification. The donation also appears in your Resource Center where you can thank the donor and do much more to customize your page and send communications.

The creator, or “champion” of the tribute fund is notified of any gift that is made to their fund. When making a gift online, you have the option to send an ecard to the person of your choice informing them of your donation.

If you prefer not to send an ecard or to send notification to multiple people, please send us their name and contact information and we will send an acknowledgement letter informing them of your thoughtful tribute gift.

*Please note that ecards and tribute notifications will not include the tribute gift amount.

Yes. If donors prefer to send a tribute gift, checks from personal accounts, donor advised funds and individual retirement accounts should be made payable to ALS Network and include the name of the honoree or the name of the tribute fund.

Any donations received by check, wire transfer, donor advised funds, etc will receive an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes.

Yes, many employers will match your donations and/or your volunteer hours. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Yes, you are welcome to promote your fund at any time and we encourage you to promote your fund at least once or twice a year on dates that are meaningful to you and your loved ones.

Some ideas for when to promote a tribute fund annually include, on your loved ones birthday, during May, which is ALS Awareness Month, on a special anniversary or holiday like Valentine’s Day or sometime during the year end holiday season. Unrestricted support ensures that the ALS Network is able to fulfill its mission priorities related to care, research, and advocacy.
